different – probably because I was out of 10Ks. These are all 5% standard resistors. Running 220 on the LED, because of the LED I’m using. Unclear in video what power supply I used, but when dusting this off in Dec 2020, I used a 5v @ 1amp USB Charger – which read ~5.2v without load.

The Proximity Sensor is just a wire here, and the type of wire, amount of insulation, length, affects all kinds of stuff.

Facebook Health Update Posts – Linux.

I’m finally taking the plunge, and slowly moving my 3 macs from 10.14 to 10.15. One issue was the ScanSnap S1500M. I search hi and low, read reviews and software support and bought the ScanSnap S1500M used on Amazon of $99 in January 2019. Unfortunately, I didn’t realized Fujitsu would be so lame as to end support. Yes, VueScan and ExactScan both support this scanner, and work well, but this is well over $100 of software for a $99 scanner.

Xen XCP-NG 8 PXELINUX CFG for Supermicro X9 SOL Serial I’ve had to wait till today, May 2nd for my first dose … which I got this morning. A nice part of this is that it is a self injectable, can be at room temperature for up to two weeks. It was also completely painless, I didn’t even feel the needle. Will see in two weeks when I need to do it myself, as this time was done with the nurse for as a “training” session. I’ve had some mild relief since, but might take longer for the full effectiveness.

A FreeBSD Router as an OpenVPN Client – Part 2: DNS Forwarding

So, I’m not sure why this didn’t work the first time, but got forwarding for just a single domain working in my unbound config for my vpn on my FreeBSD router.

It was seriously this simple:

<br /> forward-zone:<br /> name: "ixsystems.com"<br /> forward-addr: 10.x.0.a<br /> forward-addr: 10.y.0.a<br /> forward-addr: 10.z.0.a<br />

A FreeBSD Router as an OpenVPN Client

Well, I’m back doing some work over at iX Systems, and really did not want to run Tunnelblick on my mac. But, I haven’t actually tested that yet.

Of course, these charges are pushed up to my github repo : daviddpd/flickr-share-with-attribution.

wp flickr-share-with-attribution – Creative Commons and All-Rights Reserved

Well … I haven’t explained whole reason why I wrote this little utility, and well, not going to explain it now.

I’ve thinking about it and I still want to be able to link to “All Rights Reserved” images. I could probably embedded them anyway with the copyright notice, or contact each person and ask their permission. It just seems like a lot of work. For this use-case, I’m going to just link them.

Flickr-WordPress – I had to write it

So, after all the tinkering, I had to write it myself. I couldn’t get anything exactly right, so I wrote something with Flickr APIs to generate the HTML that I wanted, as well as following Creative Commons best practices for attribution. It’s just a stand-alone PHP CLI script, with hopes and desires to grow up to be a Word Press Plugin.

The code is up on github, flickr-share-with-attribution, under the 2-clause BSD license.

Trying to Find a Great Flickr Word Press Plugin

I might just have to write my own Word Press – Flickr plugin. There are SOOOO many, yet I have not found one that does what I’d like it to do. I would like to simply embed the photo with credit, title and the link back. And maybe the description too. I already know the photo ID, I don’t need discovery or search features, I just need the inserting. The flickr BBcode embed mark-up is almost what I want, and would be happy with. I’ve tried the BBcode plug-ins in Word Press, but it wasn’t clean enough.

Testing with Lucy

Playing around with wordpress plug-ins for flickr and twitter. Let’s get started.

I’ve wanted to start a blog for while, continuously having to put it off. What better day, than July 1st, the start of the 3rd quarter to kick off a blog. I do not have any firms plans for what will be here, however there are a lot of things in my head, and many different ways this could go.

Things will definitely change here – don’t really like the colors and theme yet, so it will change.
