(BTW – ObamaCare is NOT insurance, it is laws. Some states have not fully enacted the ACA due to partisanship and obstructionism.)

If you vote for candidates and support repealing the ACA, and currently have insurance via your employer, you have a misunderstanding. You are NOT using ObamaCare (except for things like children being able to stay on your plan till 26, covering preexisting conditions, free birth control and other zero cost preventive care). If you get insurance via your employer, and think the ACA is bad – then you don’t understand the complete scope of the law.

Planned Parenthood and The GOP Hypocrisy: Lobbying and SuperPACs

I’m watching the CSPAN coverage of the Planned Parenthood Government Funding. It’s hilarious that the Republican Congressmen, especially the chair of this committee, attempting to use funding legal lobbying, legally funding of super PACs, and other political campaigns to prevent PlannedParenthood from receiving federal funds (note: mainly via Medicaid).

Remember, Oil/Energy companies – lobbying for Keystone XL, or defense companies – lobbying and funding super PACs, and Wall St, who got bailed out, lobby and support Super PACs. They got 100s of billions dollars. So, if you a fiscal conservative, and object to this … then just be constant. However, right now, this is just fine and legal. Citizens United baby!

Fact checking the News

So PunditFact published “Scorecards for the TV networks”, and how much one network “lies” got some social media traction today.

The comparisons are interesting, but be cautious about using them to draw broad conclusions. We use our news judgment to pick the facts we’re going to check, so we certainly don’t fact-check everything. (1)

Shouldn’t we fact check everything ? Isn’t it the responsibility of journalists to fact check everything ?

The conservative news website of the National Review, which I believe was trying to discredit PunditFact’s scorecards, had this to say:
